hey guys, I just finished my first successful build. I built a BSIAB II from GGG. It sounds AWSOME!!! I went for the less compressed all 2n5457 transistors in the circuit. I have two problems though. 1. went i turn the gain know all the way down there is no sound from the pedal at all. and 2. For some reason (which may be just me) i hear alot of a mid overtone it. Almost as if there is a SLIGHTLY!!! %^&*ed wah in the overtone. Again I remeind you all it may be just me. But has anyone experienced this sort of thing. If i can fix boththese things the pedal will be PERFECT!!!!! Thanks

if you put a resistor between lug-1 and ground (22k or so should work, though you could probably go up to a 50k)of the DRIVE pot (500k, iirc), it'll keep that from happening....

Thanks Dragonfly! How about the nasaly mid overtone? Any suggestions?

I just finished replacing the 150pf cap with a 330pf and the middy sound seems to be gone.  :)

cool...sometimes its just a matter of "tuning" the circuit to your taste...

Hey Guys, Well i tried out the pedal at band practice today and it ABSOLUTLEY ROCKED!!!!! It sounded good on every amp we had there. (Mesa Dual Rectifier, Marshall TSL, Vox AC30 and a Fender Twin Reverb) I would up setteling on a .1uf cap for C2 and a 470pf cap for C5. I can't say enough about it. Thanks to everyone here, and this will definitely not be the last.

I built one of these today, and I'm knocked out too!

FIY, I used a 10K on the earth lug of the drive pot.

Remember that this pot is a log pot, so the resistance changes more slowly round the anti-clockwise end...

With the drive all the way down, and the tone up...

Bring on the funk.   :icon_cool:
