rangemaster build

My first pedal last year was the range master,although it is a good sounding pedal it lacks.Im thinking there has to be a build here for a super rangemaster type pedal which has more boost and a fatter tone. I mostly play with paf  humbuckers. Ive always liked analog mans pedal i think it uses a switch for different tone caps.I guess Im looking for recemendations here!!

I built the rangepig and was floored by how good it sounded.
Even with a not-so-good germanium tranny.
Well worth building for sure!

Changing the input cap can help fatten up the sound.

For higher gain you might want to check out the Brian May Treble Booster.

You could also take a look at the full range boosters like AMZ Mini Booster, Gus' NPN Booster, etc.

I used a rotary switch in an RM build recently for switching input caps and it adds flexibility, try 0.0047uf (or 0.0068 if you can get one I cant seem to find 'em!) for the original sound, 0.01uf for a nice thicker sound, and a 0.1uf for a bassy stoner sabbathy tone.  I used a break then make type rotary switch but I dont think it really matters for this kind of operation.

I would DEFINITELY recommend a rotary switch for caps- it really does make it a very flexible pedal.
