RM Axis Fuzz Capacitor Value

I finally gave up making a clone of the Roger Mayer Axis Fuzz and got one.  I immediately noticed a difference between the schematics I've seen and the one I have.  The original only has 7 capacitors and not 8.  It's missing the .001uf.  Any ideas?  Is this why the other one wouldn't work?

With the .001u the "other" one should work, but should sound better without that cap.

Just removed the .001uf cap in my cloned version.  Wow!!!!   Thanks for the tip!   Sounds much more alive.......
