Effect pedal question

Hi everybody,i am new in DIY effect projects and i have limited experiance in electronics...The current projects i am on are the Professor tweed project, the GT2 project and the ruby amp.I have noticed at Runoffgroove website that many overdrive/distortion stompboxes are based on marshall,fender and other amp circuits. My question is this:Is there a way to convert those distortion boxes into small amp heads,just like the RUBY amp???    Thanx

You just need to hookup a power amp of some kind to the end of it, even just something like the LM386 based Ruby but if you want some more headroom you might want something larger. These guys here are pretty good at that type of stuff http://ssguitar.com/
