Vintage/Modern wah mod?

Hey all, I've got a modded Vox 847 that completely nails that vintage wah tone, perfect for strats with a bit of light drive.  However, it flubs out a bit using humbuckers with higher gain and doesn't have that modern crying sound, which I spend an equal amount of time playing.  I'd rather not buy another wah... what would be a good way to get both in one box other than adjusting the sweep of the pot?  Maybe add a switch to change sweep cap, or lower the Q resistor, or maybe both at once?

Thanks.

Hmm... I think I would get a DPDT switch and try doing the sweep cap idea first. If that doesn't do it, then I might also try switching the Q resistor, too.

Higher gain transistors would really make the difference, but I never heard of having two sets of transistors and switching them in and out of the circuit. Not sure if you can achieve what you want in one wah, a vintage tone and high gain tone. You can get a higher gain tone i.e brighter, more trebly that will cut through more by lowering the sweep cap and raising the bass resistor, which you could have switchable or adjustable through an external pot. You might want to put a trimpot in for the Q resistor to get a more "crying" tone as you said if that is possible with whatever inductor you have, but not sure I would have an external pot for that, obviously you can do whatever you want.
