rangemaster mods??

hi all, ive built a rangemaster(my first)! and i was wondering if theres a way to mod it to give a full tonal range boost(just been on the sabbath fuzz thread and got me thinking!) and maybe a little more volume, and would it give more infront of the chain of effects ie before two overdrive pedals, or after? once again thanks in advance

What I do is use a rotary switch to select between input caps of 0.005uf, 0.01uf, and 0.1uf, it gives you a great range of sounds

Yup, a rotary or a couple of switches like the "Java Boost"
I prefer my NPN "Rangeblaster" from Philip @ Fuzz Central

.1uf was too much for me, it really muffled the highs.  .022uf is as far as i went.

I just posted a new tweak to the blend control which allows the authentic rangemaster "single cap" sound - and the cap blend control, for the full range/modded sounds.

since i had a big rotary i used 9 cap values, a little over the top but cool.
,001 - ,0022 - ,0047 - ,01 - ,022 - ,047 - ,1 - ,22 - ,47 i think it was.

well well, i changed the cap for a 047 ceramic and got a really muddy sound, then a 015 film cap, and its almost there, then(dont know if anyones tried this but) put a 50k pot instead of the 10k, and got a fantastic overdrive/fuzz that really throws out some serious volume, is that what a higher value pot will do? still very new to this but am really pleased with this, going to make another with  switchable caps but leave it as clean a boost as possible, would a 5k pot do this??
