i just built a wah from GGG's layout, and the wah signal is weak. not FAINT, or distant or stuttering ot anything like that, but it sounds as if im using a 10kohm Q resistor, versus a 100k...and ive got a 100k installed! what are common problems that cause this? im not going to mess with it right now, as ive got to leave...plus my back hurts...so i am going to sit on it and think about it.

its wired 100 percent correctly, and the transistors are fine.
no longer the battle of midway...(i left that band)...

i hate signatures with gear lists/crap for sale....

i am a wah pervert...ask away...

Low Q, not low volume, right?

Possible causes:
low Q inductor, or internal shorted turn
Bad (high resistance) 4.7uF cap at the inductor
Wrong part value somewhere
Soldering.
Low gain Q1
Low gain Q2

Can you possibly give us the info listed under "what to do when it doesn't work"? That process eliminates a lot of things it might be, and would let us concentrate on what it is.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

bah! i totally forgot about that hahah...what a n00b! oh, this is finally my first build hahaha!

i got a strong feeling its the inductor...which is a bummer cause theyre custom made for me from OrionCustom, and he wont make em for anyone else...dag nabbit! well, ill get to swapping that inductor, and checking for wrong part values. if those dont work, ill post the "what to do if it doesnt work" stuff.

thanx RG  ;D
