This is already in my Jordan BossTone thread ( http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=47731.0 ), but I think it's worth mention as a seperate topic for ideas on painting enclosures.

I had the idea to try airbrushing an enclosure for a while and this is what I came up with on a whim. The base coat is flat white, and the black is sprayed over. It's just acrylic paint airbrushed on and then coated with a few layers of clearcoat. The box is a recycled enclosure that housed some kind of electronics, but it was gutted before the enclosure was given to me. It started out as a grey box.

Hey Paul,

There are a couple here below that I basically did air brush on.  The green one on the amp I think was base white then I took a piece of screen and held it over it and sprayed green(this is a tube screamer with selectable ts808,ts9 & ts10 with gain and bass switches)
The one touching the black one in the front right on the back left was sprayed with several different shades of purple, pink, white, gives a sort of cloudy effect.
The white one with the different circles and gears on it is my univibed phase 45.  It started out white then I used different size laminents for building motors and held them almost on top of it and sprayed different colors.

Not really airbrush cause I used small spray cans, but similar.

Peace!

This is the second thing that I have ever airbrushed. It takes some practice to get good at it. I'm going to keep at it because it's kind of fun!  :o

weird enclosure Paul (from the inside), was this from a commercial pedal? and... can you fit a battery in there or you're just using a PS?

PS: How did you do the letters on the box?

It was some kind of commercial product, but not a guitar pedal. I drilled all of the holes except for the ones in the bottom cover. No batteries. As I rule, I do power supply only.

Read this page, it's about half-way down. http://www.diyguitarist.com/DIYStompboxes/StompboxTips.htm

Nice work Paul, looks good!
I've been thinking about getting a cheapie air-brush to play around with but, I have so many things on my DIY plate right now, it's not in the least bit funny.

Great,

If MarkM master the airbrush like he did the etching, none of us will ever want to show our boxes in public again.

Nice work paul.  It takes me back to the Kiss "animalize" album.

Is that a plastic washing basket?
