I have an older sansui eq that I want to hook a tape deck into then from the eq to my soundcard on my computer.
On the back of my eq it has :   One section is Tape- rec(with left and right phono plugs) play (with left and right phono plugs)
the other section is: One side says source in (with left and right phono plugs) and the other one is preamp out (with left and right phono plugs)

The question I have is how do I hook it up?

Do I put the tape deck into the source in and preamp out to eq then to soundcard ?  or
Do I put the tape deck into the tape play inputs of the eq then preamp out on the eq  to the sound card?

Thanks for any help!

I know this may seem to be an idiotic question, and of course OT, but seriously, anyone know which way I should hook this up?

Thanks!

http://www.tweakheadz.com/setting_up_your_audio_card.htm  http://www.tapcoworld.com/pdf/MIXSeries_HUD.pdf   These might help also google for diy audio,     The tweakheadz looks the most promising.

I can't see so I'll just say I think that's how I'd do it, for adding EQ to the tape Playback, try it out and see...
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Thanks Pete!

I guess I will try it a few different ways and see how it records and sounds!
My problem was, is, that I have only had components with ins and outs and not a choice like this one has.

Peace!
