some of you guys may think of this as cheating, but im a complete beginner and am looking for some quick, easy work to do on an old DS-1 ive got lying around.

what id like to know (and excuse me if this is silly question) is if theres any way to just order a populated PCB of say, a fuzz pedal, and just stick it in the DS-1 enclosure? any ideas?

p.s. im so electronically retarded its not funny  :icon_cry:

try getting one of the kits they sell at Small Bear (if I'm not mistaken).  Essentially, it's just solder by numbers.  :icon_biggrin:

If you're not happy with yr DS-1 search for mods.
Melanhead's are an excellent set to apply.

You wanna build from a set plan with all the bits? Check www.buildyourownclone.com

SWEET! thanks guys!

also, i took the ds-1 apart last night just to have a poke around, and i was wondering whether the BOSS style "stomp" switch might be a bit of a problem, cos alot of the kits and designs ive seen on have the "3PDT Switches". any ideas?

You mean its old and broken? In which case, there is no drop-in replacement circuit. All copys of the circuit are designed for true bypass, not boss switches. If its not broken, id leave it alone!

AH-HA! i understand now, thanks race driver
