I get some noise if turn the pot on my rangemaster and the volume on my fuzz face does the same thing. It sounds like they are dirty old pots but they're new, one came from small bear and the other came from pedal parts plus so I don't think its bad pots the odds would be astronomical. None of the other pedals I've built have this problem. Other than that they both seem to work fine. any ideas? thanks dave

if it isn't dirty pots, try checking your ground connections.  Sometimes something moving in there can cause an intermittent ground that makes a scratchy sound.  But, up front, I'd suspect dirty pots, maybe from being in storage.  I use smallbear too, find his stuff to be like 100% awesome, but it COULD happen from the factory....maybe open one up and find out!?

I don't think its a bad ground connection I went over the wiring and solder joints in both at least 10 times, also I can shake, tap and poke around inside the pedals without causing any noise. I opened the volume pot on the fuzz face and cleaned it, it didn't fix it.

There is an article by RG over at geofex about the Rangemaster.  Check the FX Projects section.
