I'd like to build the one in your article Mark. Do you see any reason why it would have to be a two sided pcb? I would jsut PNP the solder side drawing at half size like it says. -ph

I have no comment one way or the other with regard to that project. I simply scanned and posted it because at the time people had asked for one. Now, several years later, it may well pale in comparison to what else is posted around. As a near as I can tell, though, the use of double sided things may have more to do with shielding, IIRC. Shielding can always be done another way.

My understanding is that Marks transmitter does not transmit a clean signal (can only transmit distorted signal), is this correct?
I think thats why I looked for another one, and used the MkIII.

That's not what I'm reading in the article. The pedal distortion is added in and switched with those touch pads. It's just an fm transmitter. -ph

I have found the Beetle to be extremely unstable. When I'm getting a good clean tone, it will either break up and the volume will change as I move around or I'll get a nasty background noise, but good signal. Somewhat tolerable when clean, but rules out the use of any pedals as the noise gets so bad.

Have you connected an antenna?
Marks transmitter looks good, but it also looks to be double sided.
