Yipee, Duende Boost is in action...but tone change is interesting

Okay finally got the the duende boost working.  It has a really cool sound with the boost on and really cranks.  The one thing I noticed is that on bypass the tone is much darker than going straight into the amp.  Is this the dreaded tone sucking I have read about or is this something I can expect from boost/overdrive circuits?  Or would a bypass circuit like the millenium fix the issue? I wired the switch bypass based on:

That diagram doesn't look right to me - when bypassed, the guitar pickup will be constantly loaded by the OUTPUT impedance of the circuit.....
That would cause serious tone sucking !!

I would have wired it like this:

That way the guitar pickup is constantly loaded by the INPUT impedance of the circuit which would be MUCH higher and so have less effect on the bypassed tone.

That's kind of what I thought after looking at it.  I will rewire the switch and try it.  I was just happy to get the darn thing to work.
