what a great sounding overdrive.  im surprised this pedal isnt more popular.  i built it with the original 741 ic and silicone diodes.  i might tinker with the clipping sometime this week, but i really like it the way it is as well.  i gutted a yellow reissue i got for really cheap and put this circuit in it.  also gave it a yellow LED  ;D.

Yes the 250 is a great sounding distortion pedal.  I used a 741 and si diodes also.  I put an asym diode configuration using 3 1n914's.  I might remove it or maybe put a switch to select the diode config but I'm not sure I like asym as much as the stock setup.  When playing with the band I use the 250 more than any others.  It sounds good combined with OD 280 compressor I built and my band members like how it sounds too.

For such an easy build it really is a great little pedal. I have 2, one I built stocj and the other with Germ diodes and they both sound great.

This is one of my favorites as well.
For a different flavor you can try the 1977 version in my layout s gallery too.

The little yellow box that wouldn't die.  I've had one since 83 or 84.  The switch is shot so I'm gonna build a clone with TB and a led.

Congrats on the success.
