Some Ross Compressor Questions

I'm just about to house another Ross Comp and got a question.

I've added the on-off-on mod this time but cant notice any difference at all? It iss wired correctly, what should I be hearing?

You mean the variable recovery mod?

Hearing it can be tricky in some circumstances since it doesn't change the tone of the notes in any way.  The mod adjusts how quickly normal gain returns after a note is picked.  With very quick recovery, every note will seem to get quickly "reined in" but you'll still get to hear the initial attack transient before that reining in happens.  If it takes longer, then subsequent notes can seem to be suppressed IF you pick a bunch of them quickly.  If you leave long gaps between notes, or if you palm mute notes so that you don't get to hear any gradual swell, then it may be difficult to hear the difference between any of the settings.
