I'm in love....... yes, I fell many years ago.  She's dark ebony, sometimes she whispers peacefully into my ear, other times she shouts and screams with gusto, she makes me feel like I'm in control of the world, she's got one hell of an input and yes, it fits perfectly, but, call me a sadomasachist, I'm always stepping on her...... hard, very very hard.

Analogies aside: Until Morley sponsors me, I'm going to have to either keep buying their optical passive volume pedals or make my own.

Does anyone have any experience building an LED/LDR-based volume PEDAL?  I am refering to the pedal CONSTRUCTION - the mechanics - the circuit is pretty freakin' simple and all of morley's schematics can be downloaded at http://www.morleypedals.com/ (THANKS MORLEY!).  I've never built a wah or volume pedal, I've only used RACO's (love 'em) so I have no idea as far as what parts to use, etc...

I beat the shite out of my volume pedals and I absolutely have to have a SOLID chassis...
If someone could give me a decent starting point I'd greatly appreciate it.

CHEERS!

check out Paul Marossy's website http://www.diyguitarist.com/ he's built a couple of wahs from scratch that you could probably adapt to do what you want.
They're in the Diy Guitar FX section.
