Voltage control for Digitec Whammy?

Someone must have tried to run a control voltage into the old Digitech Whammy??
A friend has a Roland System 6700 modular synth with the spring reverb missing... I think rather than fix the reverb, it needs something more 'interesting' so, I was wondering about this. Anyone had a peep?

No idea about the old ones but the new ones (Whammy IV) have the option of MIDI control and I guess you could make something to convert CV->MIDI

(though looking around. I think the MIDI is only for preset switching :/)
(edit: nope, you can control the expression part remotely as well)
