how come the 16mm alpha pots don't have solder tags on them?

are they designed only for pcb mounting?

markm

They usually do although, they do make a PCB mount version as well.

scaesic

actually it was just banzai, they have the solder tag ones in the "guitar pots" catagory, instead of "alpha pots". They;'re also over twice the price!

Mihkel

Don't the 16mm full shaft pots have solder tags and the split shaft ones the solder pins?

scaesic

whats the point of full shaft ones?

Noplasticrobots

Full shaft pots let you mount more pots in a limited space by mounting some further back in an enclosure while some are mounted flush to the enclosure. Sort of like a zig zag.
I love the smell of solder in the morning.

i see. I thought the main difference was you couldnt grip knobs as well.
