stompbox wire question

i hear that 24 awg is the best wire for a stomp box, so cat 6 network cable is 24 awg and use that for alot of projects how good would that bee for a stomp box does the wire matter much, and would sheilded cable be the best? whats everone using on here?

Standard 24 gauge is fine and no shielding is necessary.
