Hi, I've been trying to build the ShakaExpress pedal while following Aron Nelson's PCB layout.
Hope Aron or anyone can help out in a little clarification. 5 questions, illustration provided.

1.) The PDF says you've added a Power supply filter cap, but no value was given. Got reference anywhere? Or is there anyway i can find out?

2.) This two points are untouched are they suppose to be connected? Because it seems like they should. Or could i be wrong?

3.) What does R12 do? I've figured out about the rest.

4.) Do i connect my black end of the battery clip wires to the input ground? Just checking.

5.) Same as question 2

Thanks in advance for any help! deeply appreciated!

For 5 and 2 it looks like there should be a wire link connecting the two pads. This is done over the top of the board with a cut-off resistor lead.
For 1 a 100uF capacitor should be fine.
For 3, yes, the black wire is GND and the red wire is +9V

  Here's the schematic

Anything 100uf+ should do the trick, some get fancy and add a teeny cap to catch the HF's electrolytics don't...?

With the schematic you can sort it out, getting late here...
3.) What does R12 do? I've figured out about the rest.
I'ts wired 'like a volume control, between stages this way it reduces gain, hence it'd be a gain reducer, and adjust hardness of clipping of *latter stages as a result of amount of volume allowed *in.
4.) Do i connect my black end of the battery clip wires to the input ground? Just checking.
5.) Same as question 2
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Alright thanks alot man. Sorry if i'm asking the obvious with regards to 2,5, and 3. But its my first pedal. Just wana be sure.

if #2 is pin 8 on the TL072, then it's the power pin and should be connected to V+. The black wire of a battery goes to the ring of the input jack. See the FAQ link above.

R12 is almost like a "preamp" master volume.

Good luck with your build.
