My shipment of the "Black Bear" wah pot came in today. This model is physically identical to the Black Top 200K, but it's 100K, ICAR taper. Commercial quantities are available for the boutique trade.

I have reduced the posted price of my remaning Dunlop Black Tops and Black Top 200K to $14.95.

sounds good!!  :D

Is there a difference between the dunlop ICAR 100K pot you sell and the Black bear ICAR 100K pot?

*edit* Isn't a 200K resistor on outer lugs on the black top/pro pot the same thing?  Since that will make the 200K become 100K, and not change the sweep?

any more details you can give on the new pot (such as what it was cloned from, any differences with other ICAR pot copies, tolerances, etc.)? I remember one wah experienced tech having an issue with the 100k Fulltones in that with some of them the tolerances were on the low side of 100k which he felt contributed to a lesser sound (real old NOS pots I've measured have worse tolerances than today's pots, which seems to make it likely that an average 100k ICAR would measure differently than a modern copy with tighter tolerances). A more affordable wah pot is definitely most welcome though!

Hi--

The spec for the resistance tolerance is +/- 20%. I have not actually sampled them to confirm this. The taper has the sharp drop-off at the low end that I think is responsible for the vocalness of the pedal.

The Dunlop has a short bushing. I had the factory make mine with the long bushing of the original ProPot, which makes it easier to adapt to a variety of mountings.

But is the Dunlop different sounding?  I mean is that for a crybaby?
Or is it a hotpotz, with a different look?

thanks

Steve, thanks for the reply. FWIW I've also tried some odd old pot measuring somewhat over 100k (around 130k?) which I liked compared to the other 100k wah pots (Dunlop Hot Potz, Fulltone--just by memory not side by side however). Didn't know what the taper was and it may have been a wirewound since it wore out quickly.
