What's causing this pop?

I've just built myself a relay based true bypass loop, ala Wobo.  I used a basic dpdt stomp switch to activate a BT53 type relay, using the other switch channel to operate the LED.
The problem is, I'm getting a pop when I switch the loop on, and a smaller one when I switch off.  It's not really offensive (it's barely audible if I'm playing as I switch), but I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to stop it.  I think the BT53 has a diode built into it (the coil is polarised, so I guess it has a diode anyhow), so I'm wondering if this is as good as it gets.
I really don't want to put any caps or anything in the signal path if I can avoid it.

Hope someone can help

could be from the LED. There is ways to 'stop' popping from LED's, but all the methods never helped me. For me, a truebypass pedal with LED always pops, no matter what.

not much help, i know,.. but just my 2cents
