Obsidian-Vulcan-Blackfire differences?

IIRC the 2 stage Blackfire had so much gain that wiring it to the by-pass switch caused oscillation problems, so he added a third stage so that the output would be out-of-phase with the input.

With the Mosfet Obsidians, he discovered that the P-channel BS250 was an order of magnitude quieter than the N-channel 2N7000/BS170's.  Also that the BS250 was less in need of the LED's for protection.   :icon_cool:

The Obsidian I built was the mosfet version.

I built the BS250 version and had it on breadboard on top my amp and didn't notice it being any different than the Blackfire or Vulcan, noise wise.   :icon_cool:
