I have a 12v dc fan that i want to hook up to a box.  It has what i believe to be a mini molex connector on the end (could be wrong on the name) but in any event it has 3 leads.  Would it be possible to hook this up to a dc jack and if so does anyone know where the three wires would go to? I figure one to be ground, and the other to be hot, but what of the third.  One is blue, one is red, and one is black.
Much thanks for any responses!!!

I advise you to try a 9V battery on the red and black wire (which are most propably for the power supply). If that works, don't worry abuot the third one. Then again, it doesn't hurt to ground all the unknown wires (in this case the blue one). The more you ground stuff, the less likely you will have hum, as experience shows. :icon_mrgreen:

I've hooked some three wire fans to some of my pedals/amps. As I remember :icon_confused: the black was ground and blue and red you could alter for different fan speeds.
