Hi Forum, can anyone tell me if a polarized tantalum cap will work in a tubescreamer tone circuit for the .22 uf caps?

what kind of thing could I expect?

which way should I polarize them if they will work?

Thanks UE

That is actually what was originally in there.

Many companies used tantalum capacitors during the 1970s.  Not because they sounded better in some way, but because they were small, compared to nonpolarized caps of the same value, and because they could be easily bent over to lie flat and take up less space.

Hi, if your look at the schematic at GGG http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/pdf/ggg_its8_sc.pdf
you will see it specifies a polarized tantalum cap and tells you the orientation of it.

Thanks guys.  This should be okay then.  I'm also using them for space concerns.
