QuotePainting tip, don't use Rustoleum spray cans on wood....Takes forever to dry.

It's gloss paint, right? Doesn't matter what you spray it on, it'll take a while to dry.  :icon_wink:

I guess that pedalboard isn't as large as the picture led me to believe. Nice work.  :icon_cool:

yea that paint took a whole 24 hours to dry on wood so i got some other brand for the 2nd coat and it worked out much better.

Last night i ordered the velcro from MC, it came in just one day with UPS ground!!!, that's fast.

the hook side is coming tomorrow,,,they had to ship from another supply house in the area.

i put the velcro on the board but wasn't thinking until I put the glue on there and tried lining it all up.

i cut the big velcro sheets exactly to size and in doing that it made the job much harder because its almost impossible to line this big sheet up without letting it tough the sprayed wood....this glue really sticks good.

anyways i should have but it with a 2 inches of extra all around then trimmed it.

ill be covering this with tons of DIY pedals so it wont be noticed much at all.

when i took the photo of the board everything really sticks out...the silver marks from the sharpie i used to measure it out and the uncovered spots.

this is not noticeable much at all when just looking at it...the cam flash really gets those details in there lol.

oh well, there's always the next pedal board to improve my mistakes.

I'm thinking of something similar for the upgrade with some speakers and a amp circuit built in.

there would be an input jack on the board like there would be on a guitar amp and so you could just bring this anywhere like the micro cube amp and just play but with foot pedals.

for this current board I'm thinking of putting some LEDs on it...the chaser type like on that car in Night Rider (I'm not sure how many of you guys have see that show)
but its a nice effect.

i got the other side of the Velcro in today and put it on the pedals....it sticks so strong that it pulls the velcro off the board...

shoegazed

when i ordered the velcro sheets from them, (mcmaster-carr) they had different strenghts, so i ofcourse ordered the strongest, and they were not kidding!
i routinely have to pry pedals off of the board with a flat head screwdriver. i started using less and less hook side on my pedals, so now they still stick great but aren't hell to get off anymore.

i heard that at another board and got the weakest stuff they had.  The soft hoop side is really flat...looks and feels more like felt. but the hooks are normal.  it still holds really well.  After trying one pedal I had to really pry it off so I cut of half the hook side from the pedal and now they are great.

update on the board.  my power jacks shipped out yesterday and i just got the power supply mounted in the board as well as the switch mounted up top...

its just not mounted that straight...dremel didn't work out too well on the thick wood but it did cut it and im just happy its in there.

photos are updated on any of the links i posted.

I have to either get some hinges from the store or find some in the back....i may have some laying around.

edit, BTW, that fender PT-100 is great for the price.  sure its not as good as the boss $100 tuner pedal but i don't need to spend that much.  only thing that adds is different tunings.
this one you just play and it instantly finds and note....my old tuner was crazy...that arrow went all over the digital screen.

That look pretty good. Add a few DIY pedals and you are all set.

yep im reading up that book i downloaded every now and then and am starting to get an idea of what i have to do to design and build pedals.

im up to the section that starts the first booster

Gee, UPS always takes the whole five days to ship stuff to me when shipping UPS Ground.  :icon_mad:

Anyhow, that's looking good.  :icon_cool:

Hi,
one question: how do you attached the wah to the pedalboard? I have a Wah and a Rotovibe and I don't know how to stick the velcro to the bottom, if I take off the rubber band the screws comes out of the bush and the surface isn't plain.

Cliff Schecht

I mounted my wah by taking all of the feet off, getting 2 inch strips of velcro, cutting a hole right in the middle of it, inserting the wahs footpads through the sticky side and just wrapped the velcro around. It's actually better to offset the screw hole a little bit and just not let the velcro overlap itself too much. I can hold my pedalboard upsidedown and shake it with nothing falling off.

im not planning on moving my pedal board around much so i just put it on the board and the rubber feet keep it in place well.

but if i had to, i would use some different type screws that were flat on the head and just use those without the rubber feet.  then some velcro under that metal plate should keep it in place well.

I strapped mine down with a strap of metal I cut, sanded, and drilled two holes for the mount screws, it goes over the case/under the treadle, the ends get screwed down, strap shaped so the right angled ends almost touch the board...about 5-10 minute job, tight. YMMV

a few of those big zip ties linked end to end would work well too

for the future readers who look up this thread ...the old photo links were changed and without any edit button i cant update them.  However, i can post a new link in this post

http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/moody07747/Completed%20Projects/Pedal%20Board/

Update time:

When i had all the boss pedals, one power supply was all that had to be run to the wall but with the magicstomp, it needs to be powered by a different output supply therefore forcing me to use 2 plugs for 2 pedals which adds more wires to the floor.

I countered this problem with some old electric boxes and some everyday 120V wall outlets.  The lighted switch is rated for up to 220VAC so i used it in this new setup.  This switch also counters the problem of no switch on the yamaha magicstomp.

ill update with the newer pics for the board later today....im bosy flying my new air hogs aero ace...best RC plane for your money and tons of fun  ;D

sorry for the delay on the photo update...I've been very busy this week.

anyways here's the final power supply...just 2 duplex receptacles mounted in 2 metal single gang boxes because of the size.

http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/moody07747/Completed%20Projects/Pedal%20Power%20Supply%203/

the switch is a lighted 110V rocker.
