Volume pedal conversion: too good to be true?

Hallo!  ;D
I bought a volume pedal, and then realized that it was not of the correct kind: 250k, and I have an EMG equipped Strato. Fool!  :icon_redface:
Of course, the pedal actually acts as an "on/off" device.
I like the pedal very much, so I wonder if I can "convert" it.
I have some 22k resistors; if I solder one of them between lug 1 and 3, I have:
1/Rt = 1/250 + 1/22 , i.e. Rt = 20,4k
...and this should fit my EMG better (EMG uses 25k).
Too good to be true? It's a good solution, or there are some disadvantages? For instance, I was told that this mod probably causes my pot to "quit acting in a logarithmic way".
Thanks! (And sorry for my english, I'm italian!)

What's the problem with the pedal as it is now?

I can't see any obvious problem with using a 250k pot with with active pickups.

it might.  Why not just try it and see?  Sometimes it is quicker to just try it than put up a post about it.
You could also try a 250k linear pot.  I made a passive volume control for our guitarist.  He uses a LP.  IT was basically a pot w/ a bypass cap for highs activated by a switch.  I tried all kinds of values of log pots and it never worked quite right.  Put in a 100k linear pot and it worked great!

Try your resistor method, if that doesn't work, buy a couple of pots and see what happens!  That is what this hobby is all about- endless hours in the basement switching parts in and out of circuits.

Isn't the V pedals pot in parallel with the guitars VC pot?
Both total resistance values going from signal path to ground?
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Ooops... I did not think about that...
I use the V pedal right after my guitar. The guitar VC pot is actually 25k. Maybe I have already 1/Rt=1/250+1/25... correct?
So, putting a 22k resistor on the pedal won't be of great help.
Thanks for the suggestions!
