fixing negative ground pnp fuzz face / fuzzface motorboating / popping noise

i found the solution to fixing that motorboating effect (timed popping that occurs when you turn the drive up) with negative grounded pnp fuzzfaces. throw a massive capacitor across the power terminals. i just tried a 2200uf 16v and it got rid of everything! i've read that a 1000uf works also. i've read suggestions that you should have the capacitor as close to the circuit as possible, though mine was miles away. i was using vintage and modern ac128 germanium transistors.

maybe nobody needs this, but i thought id post it because i've read people needing this info (me too!) and they might find it with the search function.
