Does anyone here know of any good mods for the Mesa Bottle Rocket tube overdrive?

  No, I don't. IMO A 'good' mod is something that enables a new function or takes some 'bad' characteristic of an existing function and improves it.
  It looks like it'd be a high gain pre-amp, wired in such a way as to make some of the later preamp tubes distort.
  Trying Different tubes, NOS Seems to be a popular mod for any tube jobs..spares are always nice anyway.
   The circuit appears to be a series of preamp tube gain stages.
