where can i find some big ass knobs?

im looking for giant knobs, and cant really seem to find any...


where to look? anyone got em?

Take regular knobs, and press them into the bottom of a hunk of Sculpy or Fima polymer clay. Bake. Ta-da! Big knobs.

You can also sculpt or press-mold the ... er... Sculpy clay or Fima clay into a mold which looks like whatever big knob you like. That way they can all look the same.

How big is big?
My variac has a 3 1/2 diameter knob, I'd call that big.
You gotta figure that these days 99% of all electronics are tiny and those big knobs aren't and haven't been made for a long time.
I'd love to get some big ones as well. I usually use 1.25" knobs...

I got some 2" dia. knobs off of a junked stove.
They are labeled HI, MED, LOW.
Thought they'd be cool for my OCTAL FATTNESS amp build.

Flea markets often have a seller with a box-o-knobs from appliances that are big.

That's where I buy mine. The big ones I mean.

I like to use 2 big ones with a smaller one centered above the other 2.

+1 for radioshack knobs as well. The hexagonal ones without the aluminum center.

The guy "hongkongsuperseller" on ebay (linked above) has some cool stuff, but he's in china and shipping is more than the knobs themselves! if he was in the US I'd order a bunch of stuff.


The link we posted a while ago and picked out faves was neat, only one problem. Where the heck can you order them? The link was for a manufacturer. The only options are buying thousands or finding a distributer....Sigh.....
