Hey guys, I just wanted to share this with you, something I stumbed on today.

I've been working on a looper design using this chip for a while, but never really got my ass in gear to do anything with it.
It would appear that that is no longer necessary, since this PCB can be easily adapted to stompbox use. May need some work to make playback loop, but it's a start.
The ISD2560 is readily available, £13 or so at maplins. A little more costly than the ISD1000 series used in the Mobius, but much longer record time (1-2mins) and higher frequency response too.
Anybody fancy it? It's just leapt to the top of my 'things to do list' (behind the paralpedal obviously  ;))

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's similar to a project Bill Bergman was modifying, though i'm not sure how much came of it.
This series is a little easier to design for, as it has the logic circuits built in, so only switches needed for operation. I looked up the frequency response, which is apparently 8khz max, but featuring a lp filter rolling off at 3khz, so it would probably sound fairly lo-fi still. This chip and design also allows recording to be paused and resumed, and it is possible to allocate up to 6 seperate recordings for play back in any order. Unfortunately there's a 25ms delay in addressing, so you'd probably get a huge click at the start of the sample. Can't see a way around that i'm afraid.
Personally, I find the idea of a non-looping looper quite appealing. I'd like to be able to kick it in just to play a single phrase or whatever. Maybe I'll modify this to have a loop/non-loop function too.

Very interesting site, thanks for the link!
