I'm ordering the parts for a shaka tube from small bear and I need a 250pf cap and they only have 220pf and 270pf but they do have 100pf and 150pf for a total value of 250pf.

Which route should I go...Bigger, smaller or two put together for the proper value?

Just go with the 270pf. Due to cap tolerance it is unlikely you would notice any difference between a 250pf and a 270pf cap.

EDIT: http://www.geofex.com/effxfaq/keenslaws.htm is very useful. Makes you finish your pedals ;).

I went way bigger on mine - 470pf and liked the sound better. So I would opt for the larger value.
