Howdy All,

I just made "The Brick" today and was wondering if:

Where D2 goes through a 1K resistor to ground, could you put a 1K, 2K, or 5K potentiometer in its place?
And, if it was replaced with the pot, what it be worth doing?
And, what would it do to the sound?

Thanks!

I can't say as it would do much, the 1K resistor that you speak of in that circuit to my knowledge, is there to help tailor the clipping and make it more asymetrical or "tube-like".

i melted a bunch of gummi bears down in a pan, and put them in a big square mold, and sold 4 of them at 10 bucks a piece. i called them "the brick", because the sucker was a massive chunk of gummy, and lasted like 2 weeks.

OT...
no longer the battle of midway...(i left that band)...

i hate signatures with gear lists/crap for sale....

i am a wah pervert...ask away...

Well, I tested it out last night and found that it was very 'blatty' sounding.  What would make it less blatty and more smooth sounding?

Maybe if I change the clipping diodes?   I ended up using 1n270's, would 1n914's be smoother and less blatty?

Any suggestions appreciated..

Peace!

Ge diodes sound better. If you can't get the 1n46's specified, try 1n34a's.
