It would have to be checked, but shorting the resistor and diode should do it with a 9V PSA

I too need some help with a CS-2 Compressor ACA to PSA conversion.  I understand basically what needs to be done, but when I did a search of the forum all the links everybody provided where no longer good.  If there are specific parts for any ACA pedal that someone could list as a reference, that would be wonderful.  Any help would be appreciated for these projects.

If what that article says is true, take a gander in your pedal and trace the 9V+ from the power jack's barrel. First resistor and diode, just remove them and put jumpers in their place.  ;) Although isn't the diode polarity protection? Shouldn't that be left in?

I checked a couple other Boss pedals using the PSA 9V power supply, and some of them have that diode (without the resistor), and some of them don't. So keeping the diode could be ok, unless the circuit really needs the full battery voltage to work correctly, but I don't think it does.

But there is another diode (D1) that is also used for protection in the DS-1, being connected in reverse. So even without the D3 diode in the DS-1 circuit, the effect would still be protected.

Thanks for the help everyone.  In my pedal I traced (with a schematic from the web) the power and took out the resistor and jumpered, but not the diode.  I measured the point with the jumper and put the other on the center of the power jack and measured 9.1 volts when the pedal was on.  It lights up well and sounds great.  Hopefully jvargas got his working too.

Thanks,
Chris
