pots.... again

alright.. this is really bugging me. I still have been procrastinating on purchasing pots for my tonepad tube screamer. I'm putting it off because i don't understand something...

the pots listed that i need are:
1 - 20k lin
1 - 500k log
1 - 100k lin

the ones i was able to track down (from smallbear) are:

005A Pot Alpha Single-Gang Linear Taper 16mm (100k)
1009 Pot Alpha Single-Gang 16mm Tube Screamer Tone (20k)

my question is, why the hell aren't there any pots listed as logarithmic. If they don't say that they are linear, do i assume they are log? is reverse log? i just need to track down this 500k log pot. please help.

Simple answer...

Linear = Linear (sometimes marked on the pots as "B", ie 250K B)
Log = Audio (sometimes marked on pots as "A", ie 500k A)

i'm sorry to bring this all back up, but i just put together my tubescreamer, and as i was putting in the pots, i noticed that all of them had an "a" on the back of them. Did i order the wrong ones?

A = Audio Taper (Log)
B = Linear Taper

can you even order linear pots from smallbear? i can't seem to find them. i don't know what is wrong with me.. i must have ordered all log pots

wait, let me rephrase that...

i do see linear pots on smallbear, but it's confusing... for example:

Pot Alpha Single-Gang Linear Taper 16mm

how can it be linear and an alpha pot?

"Alpha" = brand name, not "audio"

ok.. i guess i ordered the right stuff then. I guess i was confusing "alpha" with "audio", and it made me second guess myself. thanks guys

Hey Guys, we have problem buying Audio log A pot here in Phillipines. nowadays all store are selling B pot linear. Some say that we could convert a Linear pot into Audio pot . Tungngruv can you help me on this and thanking you in advance.
