A grounding question-

I have recently acquired - free!!- an old tube bass amp and cabinet. Canadian made - Lifco Model 1000 - 3x 12ax7 preamp tubes 2x7027 output tubes.Three incredibly huge transformers, and eyelet board point to point construction. A 2X15" Cabinet. Original tubes from the USA (7027) and Canada(12ax7)   Maybe not the question for this forum, but a LOT of people here have tube experience- Paul from diy guitarist and R.G. to name a few.   Anyway, it has a two prong power cord. I wish to change it to a three prong grounded one. Is it as simple as wiring the white wires to their respective counterparts and the green ground wire to the chassis? This would seem to be the way to do it, but I need to know for sure.
Thanks for any answers.

My pleasure.

Note that the first site could be clearer, but what it is important to to remember is that white is always the neutral wire, and black is the line, or "hot" wire, green is used for the ground.

And that the wide prong is the neutral side (white wire) even for 2 prongs plugs, and this side should be connected directly to the transformer, while the other prong, the hot side (black wire), should be connected to the fuse, then the power switch, and then to the other transformer wire.

Also, the standard color for the screws is black wire to the brass screw, white wire to the silver screw.

lol lol Ya I wish they had standards when they built this thing! There's not even a strain relief on the power cord. It's just knotted inside the chassis! No grommet in the hole! It looks to me like the wiring diagram is similar to what is there though.
Thanks again!
