Is it possible to take an audio taper pot and convert it to linear taper?

John Lyons

If you put a resistor across the outside lugs you will lower the pots resistance. Example: a 100K pot with 50K resistor Across the outside lugs will create a 50K pot with a linear responce. Maybe not 100K linear but close as far as I know. So for a certain value pot you will need a larger value plus a resistor across the outside lugs. Try this for a calculator. http://www.diystompboxes.com/analogalchemy/emh/emh.html
