i came across a deal online for a wireless microphone system for 7 bux, so i bought it and cut its guts out.  then i basicly swapped out the actual microphone piece for a 1/4" jack, leaving me with a wireless guitar transmitter.  i rehoused that in a little metal case that clips to my strap, and plugs into teh guitar via a ~1.5 foot cable.

it gets great reception, but it seems to *overload* the signal, so it distorts on its own when i have the guitar volume all the way up.  this is fine normally, but sometimes distortion is not wanted.  so my question is this:  is there any way i can adjust the "guts" to have teh signal be at the same level it would be if i just plug in?
thanks

edit:  it is technically an 'FM Transmitter' with an FM receiver that plugs into the amp with a little antenna.
