Fuzz Face problems.

So I have the "multi-face" socketedfuzz face circuit in an enclosure and wired up.  There are a few problems Ive run into.

1.  The volume pot squeals after maye 12 o clock.

2.  Though it decreases fuzz, the fuzz pot also decreases high end considerably.  Should there be a capacitor (2.2uf)  wired to it, and if so how would it be wired?

3.  Fairly noisy, moreso than I deem acceptable.  I dont think the wires too long and I believe I am grounded well.  If I were to ground lug 3 of the volume pot to the output jack and send a wire from that point across to the ground of input jack, would this create a loop?  I am using 2 BC108's from futurlec, and all resistors are metal film.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.  I am just happy to have it wired correctly and functioning almost perfectly, but curious as to how to clear these problems up.

That sounds like a Fuzz Face to me.

My plutonium fuzz squeals a little if I have both th fuzz and the volume dimed although my volume never gets past 10 or 11 o'clock.

Keep the wires as short as possible and maybe try a little lower gain tranny in one of the slots.  I used an mps2639  and a 2n5089 and it improved the squeal factor a great deal.

I'm not sure about a 2,2uf capacitor on the fuzz control. It might help if you posted a link for the schematic and layout you used.

Well here it is but there is a little left off that I went to GGG and looked at the Arbiter FF schematic for.
I will try some different trannies.

There are alot of tones available with this circuit 'n sockets, high gain being one of them, 'problematic' high gain being another.

Voltage measurements make it easier to provide comments of substance beyond 'could be this/could be that'.

Provide the appropriate voltages and schematic.
As far as the gain pot wiring count the connections on each node, create exactly that # and connections on the board, This IS an NPN Neg Gnd FF, the gain bypass capacitor [you typed 2.2uf, I believe it should be 22uf], it's negative marking connects to ground ... IIIRC without looking up the schematic.
Reading and following the instructions: "Debugging' what to do when it doesn't work" will help.
