The Easy Face and the Sparkle Boost both have a 1uF cap going to the output volume pot. The Sparkle Boost shows an electrolytic, but the Easy Face doesn't show any polarity. Is there any reason I couldn't use an electrolytic in the Easy Face?

Would really help if you left links for schematics  ;)

I'd say just speaking in general that the cap will serve 2 purposes one to de-couple and DC voltage and the other to act as a filter.  1uF will let through all your notes without attenuating the low notes.  Change it to a smller value to filter off some lows if you like.  In this instance I would sugest you should b using a electrolytic although I am not sure if it would have an adverse affect otherwise.  you could always try it.  I'm just basing my opinion on similar circuits hope this helps maybe someone with a definitive answer will be along shortly  :icon_rolleyes:
