So I'm putting together this A/B box using the design from the Fulltone website here

It occured to me how very awesome it would be to have a momentary switch on there along with the standard 3pdt switch.
Is this possible? I'll bet it's a simple mod?

I hope .  ;D

run jumpers from the first switch to the exactt same spots on the momentary. instant dual switch. no LED on the momentary that way though, unless you have a momentary 3pdt.

I see.. Is there such thing as a momentary 3pdt?

I tried a momentary A/B switch with a couple different switches, they all made a loud enough click that I didn't want to use them.  With pull down resistors too.  Thinking about it it might not even be the switches fault, if theres a instant transistion in the audio  (like between two effects) it will sound like a pop.  Might just be the nature of most mechanical switches.  I think the thing for a better sound is to use electronic switching (CMOS or FET) where you can switch them over a couple ms.  Theres a great article at Geofex about CMOS switching in pedals if you're interested in that route.

i doubt you'd like the effect. i put a true bypass switch in my tubescreamer and had the old switch left over. i wired it up to simply send the signal to ground to do instant muting thinking that i could make intermittent signal effects by pressing it fast and randomly like my rig was dying. it sounds like poo. it's not so much a pop but a muffled crackle noise. i agree that it's not a good idea. i suppose the dpdt and 3pdt foot switches are just a much faster action?

you don't really need the led to operate with a momentary switch anyway since you pretty much KNOW your foot is there on the switch
