Anybody ever do this with a monopolar PS?  Seems kind of silly to have to go bipolar for a distortion.

Maybe just remove D6 and connect all V- to the usual voltage divider (after D5)?

Is that right?  Anyone try it with this circuit?

I built it using two batteries. I need to go back and check my notes as to what it sounded like. I believe it had plenty of output, since it could go -9 to +9, instead of the usual -4.5 to + 4.5.
