matchless vibrobox question

I was about to build a matchless hotbox ( Hoffman schematic ) but then I heard the "hot tubes" on the EH site which sounded quite rough to me and not as good as my BSIAB ( which needs more work in terms of better JFET selection anyway). I assume the hotbox will sound the same as the "hot tubes".
As i already have the parts , and having heard the EH "wiggler" I now want to build a vibro-box instead - is this schematic below reliable? has anyone built it?

Also can the spare half of the second triode be used in anyway to provide a bit of overdrive?

Can't tell you how reliable the schem is, but if there is an unused ECC83 stage then it should be easy enough to wire it up for an extra gainstage so you get a trem/OD box.

What I'm quite interested in doing is taking this design and using JFETs or MOSFETs - can it be done in the same way as many people are doing with the Thunderchief to simulate a Marshall Plexi preamp? - i.e. just using the schem 'as is' and using MOSFETs instead.
