Hello all!
I searched the archive and found no answer.
I built a cinnabar last night and I was wondering.....
The schematic calls for "high gain BJTs".
I used a couple with hfe in the neighborhood of 640.
It sounds pretty good as is, I was just wondering what "spec" is.

seems about right, something with a hfe over 600 or 700 is what I'd be calling "high gain BJT"

Welcome aboard :D
2N5089's should be good (500-800), or for high gain/low noise try MPSA18's which
are darlington BJT's up over 1,500 !!
I use them  a LOT :D

Thanks...
I think I have a few of those laying around here somewhere.
I'll plug 'em in and report back.
