caps across caps in a wah...

how does that work? ive seen extra small tant. caps in a wah...what are they, how do you install them?

well, wiring another cap across a cap, would be wiring capacitors in parallel, which would be used to get other values. (...or maybe create mixtures of different breeds of mojo?  )

wiring caps in parallel is just like wiring resistors in series, the total value is the sum of the indiviudal one
C = C1 + C2 + C3+ etc....
as a capactior is basically two metal plates with a gap in between, just think of it as enlarging the size of the plates

im pretty sure they were .01s across the .22 caps...

I would guess they are fine tuning the response of the wah.  Tweak it down a bit.

  certainly makes it easy, if there's enough copper showing.
  I just soldered one side of a cap bent just right, then I could push slightly to connect/disconnect the other side. Better voiced down a bit/rocker more toward toe for me. Don't forget to solder the other side down if it sounds better that way @
  Sure beat the prospect of pulling the board up and pulling/placing/re? on the traces.

its ok, ive got an entire day ahead of me tomorrow. not to mention i gotta fish for some .01 caps...

i noticed that teese used them in his wizard wah, and i think the dunlop hendrix wah has the same caps going on...
