I'm looking at a schematic of an MXR DynaComp -----> http://www.muzique.com/schem/dynacomp.gif

Near the Opamp, there's a 150k resistor with an empty line with the words Vr. There's another by Q1, attatched to a 1M resistor and another in between a 56k and 27k resistor (although that one has an arrow on the end of it). What do they mean?

Perhaps "Reference Voltage"... but technically these are all connected, as the same point, this supplies a lower voltage for Q1 base and the out of the opamp. The 56k and 27k resistors make up a voltage divider to divide 9VDC so that Vr is roughly 3VDC.
