Finally i solve my previous sd-1 volume lost problem..I found out that i use a wrong value resistor...how foolish can i get. Anyway, new problem occur and i dont know what happen. I hope to get some advise from you guys.

Whenever i turn the tone pot from minimum to maximum there isn't much difference until about 9 o clock position, where there is an sudden increase in volume and tone change. The rest of the position there remains the same. Anyone knows what went wrong? could it be a fault pot or circuit problem?

Thanks a lot in advance...you guys had been a great help to me. I had learnt so much from this forum. :)

What value pot are you using?  BTW:How does it sound otherwise?

its the stock pot...its 20k. according to your past experience what does this problem looks like to you? besides this problem..eveything else works fine. :)

Your description of the way the tone pot is working sounds similar to what some people have said about their TS clones, considering the SD-1 is similar to the tube screamer; maybe one of these would do the trick-

Allthough I'm certainly no expert on the subject, you would probably want a second opinion.  Other that that, my only other thought is to double check the parts you used in the tone area of the circuit, but thats a given.

thanks a lot! Any idea what are the componets and their location on circuit board that would affect the tone pot? thanks a lot...apologies for silly question. this is my 1st few attempts on mods :P

I didn't realise until now that your modding a pedal and not building one.  In that case, I don't think it would be the pot.

What would I would look for is bridged solder joints, in the areas that you changed parts.  Look at it very closely to see if you made connections that shouldnt be there.  The problem is most likely a mistake with or around the parts you changed.
