bad stone question

hello,
i just finished the bad stone project at toppiccione and i am totally
loving it except for one strange problem. if i adjust the speed pot it
sometimes kills the phasing effect. i then have to play around with
the lm324 ic to get it going again.
does anyone know what might cause this to happen?

wigglin' it a bit in it's socket.

Have you tried reflowing the solder connections for that socket?
