i have an idea,  somebody's probabbly thought of it before.

i'd like to mount a pushbutton on to the foot pad of my wah.   the idea is  that i step on it and it engages,  i take my foot off and it bypasses.

anybody know of a suitable switch?  i cant seem to find them.

worst come to worst  i'll use two spdt momentaries, but id be great if there was a good dpdt out there.

well, im hoping to find a switch with a low enough profile that i can mount it  through the foot-pad.  and run the wires through a hole into the enclosure base.

pretty basic ,  just gotta make sure the wires run long enough without any tension or have too much friction during wah action. (i think thats all the angles,   did i miss anything?)

i think the key thing is being able to mount the contact surface of the switch so its flush with the foot-pad surface.

i was thinking a round push button, like those on an arcade machine...same switches, you know, on the middle of the wah rocker, or so., with the wires coming straight up in the middle of the base, to prevent "too much" from going on...the idea is to keep it as clean looking as possible, to me, but twice as effective.

i like your idea, and am willing to make it happen as soon as i get back from this trip...very good idea.  :)

i looked at those arcade button things today,  and they are  HUGE  depth wise.

at least in my mind a small switch though the rocker wouldn't look  too  sloppy.   only thing that would be visually apparent is the wire wiggling underneath.  (im planning to use a rubber grommet in the hole going back into the enclosure preventing the wire jackets getting striped)

you sure that no one's thought of this before ?

Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.

don't know about your specific application (size/mount-wise), but smallbear has a momentary DPDT footswitch.  http://www.smallbearelec.com/Detail.bok?no=25

we have everything in australia you could ever need for diy pedals, and it's just down the road (unless you live in the middle of the desert where nobody's around for 100's of kilometers!)

the above is true, except for reasonably priced 3pdts. :'(
