hi guys,

i got my dc-2 working, i´m opening a new thread cause since you cannot change thread titles anymore, i can´t swap the "dc-2 help please" to "Update: problem solved", so i guess many people didn´t look into the thread when i finally posted the success.

here are the links again: schemo http://topopiccione.atspace.com/pjimages/BossDC2.sch.gif
                                        layout http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v368/zero_thehero/BossDC2.gif
                           factory schemo http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/boss/BossDC-2.gif

the bug was that for R86 instead of 39K, a 3M3 had slipped in (don´t ask me how, cause the circuit doesn´t even require 3M3, probably was one of those in the 39K compartment).

now there is one thing i noticed and it might be a bug in the layout:
(for all these procedures, bear in mind that alex switched the sides of the second NE570, if you compare layout with schemo.)
the things are happening around IC11 (upper right hand corner, both on schemo and pcb).
pins 10+11 (is now on layout 6+7) should connect to C59. so far so good, that´s right.
now pins 6+7 (is now on layout 10+11) should connect to C60, and if the switch is closed, also to C62.
now on the layout, they connect to C62.
afaiu, the two bbd lines are on the seperate stereo outputs, and when the switch is closed, we have mono mode, and both bbd lines go through to IC12a. now in the current layout, that would not happen, but when the switch is open, both bbd lines go though to ic12a, and that´s why it sounds right in mono.

why don´t you try it out in stereo mode yourself and then tell us the results, you might say ? because i´d have to take the whole circuit from the lab to my home where i have a good firewire-stereo soundcard to hear the stereo effect (or not  ;D). only mono in my "lab" (in form of a behringer combo amp  ;)).

so, can anybody confirm or say that i really suck ?  ;) (alex would be best, of course, but it would also really help if one of the seasoned guys around here take a peek at the layout and the schemo, it only takes about 5 minutes.  :))

cheers,

as additional info: i wired the switch on the solder pads next to C62 and C60.

really nobody with 5 minutes of free time to look into the schematics and layout ?
after all, this might be important for all the future dc-2 builders.
